To add hidden power pins on a part,  Edit->Invoke (click on part)

An easy way to copy components or packages from an existing library into your own personal library is to first open your library. Then navagate to the part or package you want to copy in the Control Panel and then right click and choose copy to library

Be careful that nets are indeed connected to pins in the schematic editor. Sometimes pins will look connect but actually are not. This often happens when nets are coppied. Check ECR output for any nets overlapping pins. An easy way to fix this is to move a part and place it where it was.

To highlight a net in PCB layout.. View->Show then click on the net.

If you are having trouble connecting nets to other nets (or components) in your .brd file and it seems like the nets will not line up at all, make the grid size a bit smaller. (This is especially likely if you are modifying a previously-made file that may have been made at a smaller-than-default grid size.)
