An interesting problem, presented by the flexible board possibility, is the effect of the solid parts, as they are placed on the flexible plane. This provides an incentive to lay out a board, for instance, such that slender parts are all oriented perpendicular to the desired bending axis. I laid out this week's board exactly this way, and found it nice to have this kind of purpose while going about the otherwise seemingly arbritrary process of working out the board layout.

More vinyl cutter work... I've found a method that reduces the weed time considerably, by ensuring that all traces are cut through, without tearing up the board. This entails running the cutter repeatedly over the same cuts, with a pressure setting that is a bit below that which will tear up the board. As it turns out, despite the tolerance due to the rotating blade, it will naturally follow the precise path that it created on previous cuts. This way, weed time for this scale of board is reduced to five or ten minutes, making this method very much preferable to milling boards on the modela, since cut time is under a minute.
