I thought a bit more about my final project and have decided to build a fab-able electronics kit.. It would start with the fabduino as the base and then have add on modules for different functions. One of the add on modules would be a sensor port module which itself would have add on modules for different sensors. The kit would be constrained by single sided fab-able boards and mainly existing fab inventory parts. I will put an emphasis on many use cases: modules can be pre-built for workshops/open-lab; modules can be used as a starting point for a custom board (exposed as eagle library parts); can users can use Arduino, Modkit, or avr-gcc for development.
