The other Experiment for this week wastouse 3d printer for rapid prototyping a design. For a long time I wanted to make a Rubik cube.

The printed pieces and the process of putting them together

Left Corner unit

The cube consists of a three axis mechanism. The interesting part of the joint is the small cubes which rotate around the axis.

Side Unit

The whole system consists of three different units which rotate around an axis. The middle unit, the side unit and the corner unit.

Right Corner unit

Elevation of the and the cross section of the cube.

Putting together the main six-axis structure and the rotating units afterward

The interlocking units of the cube, two corner and one side unit to gether and in exploded view

one side of the cube has texture on its units

The final desing of the cube with a texture in one side.
