Part
of this week's assignement was to work in a group to assemble parts of
David Carr's Mantis milling machine. I was in the group that worked on
the Z axis & the spindle.
Here is a picture of the machine where the previous group had stopped

followed the guide and used 30 min epoxy to glue the axis into the
small wooden board making sure not to leave any epoxy on the bar as in
the picture..
We
then glued this to the big wooden piece which will slide up and down.
The important thing is not to overflow the small cavities so that epoxy
doesn't come on the bar.
We were then supposed to using a
ball bearing to fix the spindle but
since we didn't have lock-tight available we defferred this step to a
later time.
