Machine assembly : Mantis Z axis & spindle

Part of this week's assignement was to work in a group to assemble parts of David Carr's Mantis milling machine. I was in the group that worked on the Z axis & the spindle.
Here is a picture of the machine where the previous group had stopped

We followed the guide and used 30 min epoxy to glue the axis into the small wooden board making sure not to leave any epoxy on the bar as in the picture..

We then glued this to the big wooden piece which will slide up and down. The important thing is not to overflow the small cavities so that epoxy doesn't come on the bar.

We were then supposed to using a ball bearing to fix the spindle but since we didn't have lock-tight available we defferred this step to a later time.
