3D scanning |
|
For this week scanning assignment I decided to scan a figurine I bought in Mexico about 10 years ago.
I was to ambitions for a first try and I didnt succeed in transfering the mesh into solid and printing it.

I used Geometrics for the scan and for closing the holes.

Then I used Meshlab for editing and closing the mesh but my computer wasn’t strong enough and the software kept crushing.

Then I used Rhino to close all the small gaps in the mesh. Rhino did a good job in closing all hte holes I had left. Then I tried to convert the mesh into solid ( I downloaded an add-in called “Mesh To Solid for Rhino” but my STL file was just too big for it and it didn’t work. |

Finally I tried to open the STL file in solidworks but there wasn't a lot I could do with it.
