Doramen (Machine Cat)

Doramen is a widely adopted cartoon figure in Asia. Originally created by Japanese artist, Doramen is hugely popular in other Asia countries including China.

Doramen is a robotic cat that time traveled back from 22nd century. He can fly, talk, move and magically pull out things from his pocket.

In my final project, I'll try to implement the talking, moving and flying function. I seek advice on creative design on the pulling out almost anything from his pocket.




UPDATE:

Another possible idea is to take the opportunity to work on BeeWhiz.

BeeWhiz is an innovative education toy that creates positive reinforcement for kids' learning. Here's a video. Unfortunately, the prototype in the video is no longer functioning. So I can remake a prototype with updated features as my final project.

BeeWhiz 2.0 project focuses on teaching kids French or Chinese as a second language.

The kids control the robot from interactive features in our iPad story book to trigger reactions of the hardware part - a robot Bee. The key features I would like to develop for V2.0 include:

- Movement - body and wings
- Talking - speaker and mouth movement
- LED blinking
