This is a demonstration of composite work done with forms milled of mdf, or hardwood, sealed with several coats of shellac and then waxed with several coats of carnauba based mold release wax. The process of producing the composite part involved fibre glass with a two part epoxy, resin and hardener, with roughly half hour working time, and 6 hour curing time wet layed on the part and sealed and pressurized in a vacuum bag with mastic tape joints, bleeder and breather, to absorb excess epoxy and aid in homogenous vacuum pressure. No composite work was done this week in order to focus effort on electronic production. A burlap and plaster based resin part will be produced using the machined aluminum from previous weeks, once the remachining process is complete.
