Week 5: Make something big

For this week I'll be prototyping the pedestal for my final project. My goal for this week is to get a better sense of scale so that I can hone in on the final parameters. Unfortunately I only get one shot at this since I can fit exactly one set of parts on the sheet of material I have for this week. I will be using the shopbot for this however there is no reason one wouldn't use a table saw to make most of these parts. It would result in a better finish. The only exception is the top of the pedestal since having a lip on the inner circle is much easier to achieve with a shopbot.

Success on the first try!  Note: Offsets in the layout software must be turned off if somebody left them on. This very nearly messed me up.
