We wroked as a group to accomplish the composites for this week. The shape of the bowls were developed within rhino. 4 oddly shaped bowls were produced and modelled. After the models were complete we miled out the interior of the bowls on the shopbot within the architectural fabrication lab. We had a couple issues with master cam setting up the tool paths.
We spent many long minutes - across many moons gesso'ing the molds. Our goal for this was was to produce an intentionally rough surface - we wanted to keep the lines produced by the toolpath.
We used the software introduced this week in class to cut the fabric for the molds
We had some difficulties with the layup. We laid up the burlap bag in the bowl molds.
