Computer-controlled Cutting / The Blobs

For this assignment, I made a press-fit construction kit from pieces that I drew by hand. I scanned the drawings, then wrote one Grasshopper to script to trace them and another to add notches for construction.

I added an equilateral triangle connector to the Blob family to illustrate the difference between digital precision and analog expression.

The amorphous nature of the Blobs lends itself to an improvisational making process in which the maker responds to the unpredictable configurations that emerge.
