About Me

I am a first year graduate student in MIT's Art Culture and Technology program. I am a conceptual artist, and I use two- and three-dimensional media to bring form to my visions. I'm Dakota/Odawa and am interested in addressing questions that test the boundaries of what art is, from an Indigenous person's perspective. Indigenous people in the U.S. face a host of challenges stemming from assimilation policies which systematically stripped us of our culture. I use the creative process to address these issues, through my academic, artistic and professional pursuits. The skills I hope to master in "How to Make (almost) Anything" will allow me to use digital fabrication technology to address issues of Indigenous peoples' cultural preservation, protection, revitalization and evolution and contribute to the dissemination of information and creative expression surrounding these vital issues.
