For the "make something big" week, I made a Press Fit shelf to store all my office supplies and other gear. It's parametrically designed so if you want one, let me know!
Getting trained on the ShopBot with Tom!
Already accostomed to Autodesk Fusion 360, I followed a bunch of tutorials on making something for the ShopBot.
I downloaded a Fusion python add-in to add dogbone fillets to all my edges, but for some reason that script didn't execute properly.
Next I exported all the DXFs to my flashdrive and went to the ShopBot in the CBA lab to make my shelf.
The most important part of this week's work was learning how to export toolchains to the ShopBot software. Setting the origin was key.
I tried to maximize the use of my 96" by 48" piece of OSB (oriented strand board) wood
I assembled the shelf and press fit the panels together (no screws needed!). And I found a nice place for it :)
Special thanks and credit to Ryan and Tom from CBA and Patrick Rainsberry from Autodesk for getting me through the design and build phases.
