WEEK 14: wildcard: bioprinting
This week I joined Filippos bioprinting team since I was curious about the technique and possibilities of using a biological medium. Here's an image of his very nice, beautiful, and great bioprinter:
The material we printed with is a solution of e.coli bacteria, which has been modified to express fluorescence under UV light. This was mixed with a thermosensitive gel ( Pluronic), on a 1:20 ratio. Filippos is still experimenting. Here we are mixing.

I was interested in using fractals, modular geometry, specifically geometry used in islamic architecture. I created several different kinds of models but ended up using a smaller portion of a pattern and making it larger than I would have like due to the current limitaton of the printer's resolution
Figure out this was too complicated
We went through many attempts
The models were too small and detailed. I ended up created a simpler and larger model.
