Material OOMOO! by smooth-on. Name sounds so cute. Apparently there are food safe options of this material.
Saftey Data Sheet. Saftey data sheet does implies that the material is not toxic.
Wear Gloves ! Please. Even though the saftey data sheet said it is not toxic. This thing
is very goopy and it is hard to get off your hands, and hard to wash off your clothes.
Mix each part well. Ussually they are sitting in the container for a very long time before we use it.
This means the the liquidy parts ussually sit on the top. So stir well to ensure that the mixture are alright.
Mix 50% part A and 50% part B. Stir pretty well to ensure things are well mixed
Jenn said this doesn't need to be excat it can be an approximation. As long as it is an approximation that is 50 50.
Pour ! But also make sure to tap multiple times to make sure that the air bubbles can escape
Trapped air bubbles can be bad. This would influence the surface quality if the air bubbles are trapped inside.
CNC Machining. We use gluegun to "clamp" it onto the board. This also creates alot of wax fur so make sure the clean up the area afterward.
Go over the toolparth in master-cam. The arch shop uses mastercam so Jenn helped us alot with that
Rough Parallel Pass to make sure that the tool remove most of the materail in the a short time
Smooth Detail Pass to ensure that the surface quality is smooth, there's also a scalloping pass to make sure that we get a good quality surface
Pour OOMOO mixture into the cast CNC
Remove the mold. And DONE we get silicon mold
