Week 8
Task1: Make (design, mill, assemble) something big (meter scale)
For this week’s assignment I wanted to design and make corn hole (lawn game) [1]. I designed the cornhole based on real sizes that I got from internet search [2]. Then I start sketching with pen and paper as shown in picture below.
I used SolidWorks to design the parts, first I designed each part separately. Note that I did not drill the holes in the CNC so I will drill after I mill the parts. Main board is part A, side frames are part C (x2), top and bottom frames are part C (x2) and for legs part D (x2).

After cutting the stock material into two pieces (48*48 inches) as shown in the below figure, I placed the stock material on to the MDF on the CNC machine.
After cutting all the pieces I needed to take the parts off from the main board because there were tabs (the things specifically added to the design and manufacturing process to hold the cut pieces on the main board on the fly).
Last step was assembling the corn hole with wood screws, as shown below picture.
