I started thinking about a self-reproducing machine as an energy collector that generates power for prototyping machines. The prototyping machines would be used to make parts to assemble more energy collectors. This self-reproducing machine could be thought of like a factory that produces its own energy and has a network of machines that can each reproduce parts for another machine in the factory as well as the parts for energy collectors.
