016: CT scanner or chillerPrinter (A):
This printer has the IP address“18.85.8.19” It is a Xerox Phaser 6180MFP. You can download drivers at http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-6180mfp/
Soldering station (C):
After soldering with leaded solder, wash your hands. Lead is bad for you.
Wear safety glasses while soldering.
Eximer laser (E):
This laser uses fluorine gas, which is very hazardous. If you’re nearby and fluorine begins leaking out, run and pull fire alarms on the way out to get everyone else out of the building. If the blue light on the wall (labeled Fluorine Leak Detected) begins flashing, get out of the lab immediately.
Note: The Excimer's gas cabinet performs a self test about once per day in which the number on the readout increases to 2.0, emits a short beep, and then reduces back to 0. This is normal.
Occasionally, when facilities performs maintenance on the exhaust system the flourine cabinet next to the Excimer will sound an alarm and an indication on the screen will say there is "vent loss." In order to stop the alarm, press the ack/rst button on the touchscreen above the flourine cabinet. There is no safety issue assuming an Excimer fill is not actively taking place.
Ultrafast laser (F):
The curtain around the laser should be closed whenever the laser is on. MIT laser safety training is required before you can use this laser.
Furnace (G):
Items coming out of the furnace will be hot.
Toaster oven (H):
This toaster oven is for melting wax off 3D prints from the Invision 3D printer, or for other wax-melting applications. Do not use it to heat your food. Do not use it at temperatures above 250°F.
