About Me

My name is Ted Sirota and I am a maker. I studied mechanical and electrical engineering at Boston University. I spent nearly all my time in the makerspace, later becoming and advisor, and then a student manager. By my junior year I picked up a second job as a 3D printing advisor in the machine shop. In the following years I worked as a prototype engineer at a venture capital firm, a electromechanical designer for a laser cutting company, and I ran a small engineering consulting firm where I spent a few years building everything from escape rooms to medical devices. In that time I became a member of the Artisan's Asylum. I initially participated as a volunteer, then as an instructor, and eventually as a board member and president. I'm now working as the manager of the 3D print core at Harvard's school of engineering and applied science.
