Water Jet _ Laser Cutter
3D model of an instance of the animated surface. After the model is "frozen" several profiles were derived from it, "contours", which represent each a single articulated structure. The pressfit assignment focused on learning the operational procedures for both the Laser Cutter and the Water Jet. I focused mainly on the Water Jet as it had the capability of citting through metal (0.125 aluminum in this case) After obtaining the desired contours, I did several tests trying to get the exact tolerance for that material and width. Thies prove to be very painfull, so after 8 cuts I got with the right tolerance, not too loose, and not too tight it won't fit. My magic numbers were Acrilico espesor thickness 0.182 distance between contours 0.364 width base 0.244 aluminum sheet size & width 0.127 0.79 x 0.13 |
