I am currently a first year PHD student in the Robotic Life group. I have a homepage there (though it is not incredibly informative). I have a background in software and designing interactive (graphical) autonomous characters, and I transitioned on working on similar aspects of character design but for robots when I joined the group. As robotics necessitates the combination of work in hardware and software, I am excited to take this class so I can pull more of my weight hardware wise in the group.
Initial Project Ideas
Ever since I saw a different version of this I knew I wanted to try to build a home version. It is a plantlike robot that responds to proximity with some anxiety by changing colors, crying out, and retreating into its shell. more
