Make a Press-fit Construction Kit

Construction Kit

Before my first attempt at making the construction kit, I made two pieces with different sized slots to get a feel for how the press fit would work:


Then I made a kit using the shapes in this drawing:


My first construction was Spike the dinosaur:


Instead of trying to improve on the construction kit, I wanted to work on something that was a little more useful to me, so I decided to try to make a spice rack. Based on the size of my cabinet and the spice bottles I had, I designed the spice rack in Solidworks:


I cut the pieces with the lasercutter, and then assembled them:
     

And finally, put the spice rack in my cabinet and loaded it with the spices:
