application programming

The focus of this week was to continue to expand on our electronics programming skills. Building off of the stepper motor controller board I built last week I thought it would be best to develop a motor control interface or GUI.

I developed a simple interface in processing by referencing prior knowledge and some new tricks to add images for bottons and import the serial library. The interface thus far has left and right step directions and a window with a pointer showing you which direction the motor is moving in.

Above is the interface moving in the left or counter-clockwise step motion.

Here is the set-up it was suggested by a colleague that since my board does not have a ftdi connection that I could solder a jumper to an unsude pin then allowing connection to the ftdi.

The finished board.
