It was my first experience using the laser cutter so I was quite scared that it could lead to a fire, but thankfully nothing happened :)

When I thought of 'small parts coming together to form a larger whole,' I was reminded of Lego blocks and so I decided to make lego blocks for my Press-Fit Construction assignment.

The hardest process for this assignment was actually cutting out the pieces using the laser cutter. If I run the machine with slightly higher power or slower speed, it would almost lit a fire on the cardboard so I had to really be careful to find the right laser cutting settings for this particular cardboard I used.

Finally, I had all my pieces printed out and separated from the larger piece! They nicely fit together which was very convenient. One thing to becareful when using colored cardboard is that it paints your hands and it doesn't wash away that easily so if you plan to use colored ones, please bear this in mind!

Assembling the parts together wasn't that difficult. I had to use some tape though because the press fit was not strong enough especially when I tried to put different Lego blocks on top of one another. But mostly, it worked fine.
