My initial thought as seen in week 1's assignment was a wine proof couch (seen below). It would be a responsive mesh on top of a frame and there would be motors that would tell the mesh to contract or not if there was liquid. This involved 1. creating a mesh that was strong enough to hold the weight of a person 2. Intertwine a wetness sensor into a fabric 3. have the relay message be basically instantaneous, and 4. have the motors respond fast enough that the mesh expands instantaneously to prevent a stain. I realized around week 3 my idea for the couch was far too complicated and began thinking about distillation

Week 6: I loved 'Make Something Big' week's project. I got really excited about the idea of weaving a breadboard and making a functional woven circuit. Thought for a bit that I would transition into continuing my loom work for the final project
