WEEK 6: Make something big

My immediate thought in class was for a giant loom and I stuck with that. I like the idea of making something big that can make other big things

For a little bit I was thinking a lot about how I could make the coolest loom. I realized though, looms are more about what you can make on them so I started thinking about what I could weave that would be cool. I wondered if I could make a circuit and then realized that the lines weaving are similar to the design of a breadboard. Thus I decided to try and weave a breadboard

CAD was a huge challenge this week. I came to the lab 3 separate times thinking I was ready to cut and then having to spend a lot of time making alterations to the teeth in the file because Fusion 360 created a lot of inconsistant redundancy in the lines. In the end I redrew the whole thing in VCarve. Also, I was so frustrated and ready to be done that I didn't realize I needed to change my units from inches to mm for the tabs and ended up with 9in tabs instead of 9mm tabs. I ended up using a power hand saw to finish the cuts.
