Week 6: make something BIG

Using the Shopbot

Relieved to have a week off from electronics!

I wanted to make a massive woodblock print this week, so I first started by designing an image of Hokusai's Great Wave that could be cut on the shopbot: Then, I loaded the file into the toolpath program and generated a toolpath. Milling took a very long time due to the number of pocket cuts required, but it finished eventually: Unfortunately, the rough texture of the OSB (oriented strand board) provided this week distracted a lot from the printed image. I probably would sand the block prior to printing if I did this project again.
