I am a first-year graduate student in chemistry up the road at Harvard. I grew up making things out of wood, but I'm looking forward to learning how to use all of the fancy digital machines in the Fab Lab. I like to think outside the box, so some of my projects might follow an unexpected path, but, as a graduate student, I'm also very busy with lab work, so I may have to save some of my crazier ideas for another time. In this class I hope to learn some things that may turn out to be useful for building the microscopes I need for my research, but I also hope to be able to make some things just for fun (and perhaps I'll be able to make a nice gift for my wife).
