Milling Custom PCB

For our group assignment, we first characterized the precision of the 1/64 bit PCB mill. As shown in the image, the smallest width it could go was around 0.02 in.

Time to try it out! I used the template from the course website and mill the USB to Serial board. There were many failed attempts, including using the wrong mill bit, unleveled platfor and spoiled board, and not milling deep enough. Eventually, I reached the optimal setting which generated a thick layer of dust in the process.

The final board looks like this. After that, I soldered on the components and am now ready to test it out.
