Hi! My name is Jan Tiepelt and I am a 4th year German PhD student in EECS at MIT. Contrary to my affiliation suggesting, my background is in materials science. I work in Prof. Marc Baldo's group focusing on organic LEDs (OLEDs) and solar cells.

While I am an expert in micro- and nanofabrication, the meso- and macroworld still beholds a lot for me to learn in terms of fabrication skills. By taking How To Make (almost) Anything, coming from a more solid-state physics based research background, I hope to bridge the gap between my skills to manipulate materials on the nano-/microscale and the real-world prototypes I envision to implement them in.
