We tested six joint types to determine the effectiveness of that join with the cardboard material. Half of these joints failed because they required some material deformation, and carboard once deformed is more malleable at the deformation. Therefore the "snap" joints do not work as well as the press-fit joints for cardboard. However, these snap joints would work better on more rigid materials like acrylic.
