For wildcard week, I worked to learn how to use an embroidery machine. To be honest, it was quite straightforward, and I was able to even set up my friend's embroidery machine pipeline to work with my computer. She used to pay for online, premade designs because she didn't know how to generate pes files automatically. From class, I identified that the ideal set of tools would be to use Inkscape with the Ink/Stitch extension to generate pes files.

Once a file had been setup, we could take a look at the simulated toolpath of the embroidery machine, which was a great way to see how the machine would draw the pattern, and debug any issues.

The final step was to actually generate the PES and run the machine, which was a lot of fun. I was able to make a few designs, and I'm excited to continue learning more about embroidery! The example print I tested was a volleyball logo, since my friend's sister plays volleyball and wanted some custom apparel.
