For wildcard week, I made an inflatable Christmas Tree! The original intent had been to create a large tree for my living community — French House, since we had lost ours this year. However, due to material limitations, I ended up creating a mini Christmas Tree, which was still very cute. In the meantime, my bunny from make something big week served as the official "Christmas Bunny", wearing a festive bow and guarding the presents for secret santa.

For the design, I had in mind a simple set of stacked cones and a tree stump. I used Rhino to sketch out concentric circles and used the Loft command to create one component of the stacked cones. I also created a cylinder with the appropriate base radius. Then, using the UnrollSurf command, I obtained the pieces that I need to cut out here.

With Alfonso's help, we cut out the fabric on a giant laser cutting bed. And here are my pieces!

I had worked on a few sewing projects in the past with a very simple sewing machine. Miana helped train me on the sewing machine at CBA. The main thing was to follow the numbers on the machine to orient the thread. Then, sewing begins! I enjoyed the process and had to make sure what my seams were oriented in the correct way such that it will be hidden on the interior in the final product. I also added tabs to hang ornaments! Here are some progress photos!

Can't wait to hang some ornaments on this!
