I just cut a piece of ceramic tile on the waterjet. The process was like using the CNC but even more
removed, since I just handed over my file to John or Shae and they did the rest. I kept it really simple because I wanted
to be able to turn it into a midi device, but even then I still ran out of time.
I just don't know where my time goes...
anyways here is the process.
I went to a flooring shop and asked if I could buy one tile to test and they gave me their samples for free, which was really nice. I honestly felt bad for taking them.
I started off by designing a simple box that I could glue together. The file is so simple it is not worth uploading.
Its just a square with a holes in it randomly places and sides that can be glued together, one of which has a hole for a cable, and a base
I first went to Architecture to cut it out
but then the tile shifted because it wasnt held down and there was a mistake cut made. IDK why I didn't re-cut it out there, I think I was feeling demoiralized and wanted to go home.
I cut out the final top peice using tile that John had left over in the shop.
Here is the fidget box.
