I thought that the most interesting input device discussed was the QTouch already integrated into the SAMD21, thus I decided to add a couple of copper pads to it and a small speaker. I was hoping that I would be able to play different chords depending on which one of the copper pads is in contact.

The above schematic and pcb design have the copper pads on the right side and the a couple of pins and a MOSFET on the left side. One thing that I slightly miscalculated was placing the usb port right in the middle. Even though, it should be normally accessible even there because there are no components between the edge and the port, it turns out that my usb cable has a slightly bigger radius than the ones in the lab and thus wouldn’t fit. I ended up burrowing one from the lab.

The milling machine had a couple of issues that delayed the fabrication process a bit. Turns out that the drill bit was not properly grounded (due to degradation due to extensive use) and this messed up the calibration process. By messing up the calibration process, it would accidentally destroy the drill bits during it

Unfortunately the trace near the 2x2 pin header came undone while soldering because it wasn’t that well connected. I will remill the board
