How to make ~almost~ anything
A to-be-well-documented journey from general ineptitude and frustration into a collection of eptitudes and... probably still frustration.
End of class reflections:
To any future students who've stumbled across this site, may you appreciate the incredible gift and challenge of the teaching team: that your only limitation will be the time you invest in your projects. The sooner you realize this, the better. Ask for help; you will receive it. The corollary to this, though, is that you should do your research first. It is much better to ask for help to do something you've attempted because a) this is how you learn and b) it is respectful of the teaching team's time and expertise.
Your effort each week stacks, meaning that if you invest the extra hour during CAD week, it will save you hours of work across each of the successive weeks and put you on a higher trajectory for what you can accomplish.
You will not be able to make up work; you will run out of time, and you will regret this. If you are disciplined with your time, though, you won't be as disappointed at the end of the class (and you will likely feel triumphant after a little reflection).
Your fellow section mates are more important than anything you'll learn or make; take time to get to know them. Spend time in the shop with them or maybe even get a meal. This is a special group.
