Week 2: Embedded Programming

One sentence summary: I'm still taking too long to learn things, but making with the final project in mind is helping guide my areas of focus

Reflection

The first essay in The Mythical Man Month is called "The Tar Pit" and alludes to the challenges of delivering computer programs at scale. The Architecture Group experienced a real-life constraint of coordination for team size on Thursday after recitation, matching the predicted requirements of the book (see documentation below).

I need to improve in my "supply-side" project management. I am doing a good job alloting "time-allowed" to tasks, but I am underestimating unforeseen tasks and this is impairing the time I can spend on each planned task.

I made as little as I made last week; sadly, no progress on my quest to match slopes.

Group Assignment

After an initial panic that we would not be able to complete the group assignment, including a frantic ride on the Media Lab elevator, we settled on the second floor and put our minds and desks together. We decided to each upload that specs and workflow for the chips that we thought matched our needs in a shared document, linked here.
