Week 4 3D scanning and printing
✅ group assignment: - test the design rules for your 3D printer(s)
After comparing 3D prints produced by Prusa and Bambu, we observed that the Prusa print (shown on the left) exhibits some imperfections, whereas the Bambu print (on the right) appears noticeably cleaner.
✅ individual assignment: - design and 3D print an object (small, few cm3, limited by printer time) that could not be made subtractively - 3D scan an object (and optionally print it)
For this week I tried to print a lattice structured sample support with resin printer
I tried support in different drictions and found that 45 degree is the best angle
The printer I used is a resin printer Elgoo very easy to use, make sure the resin is filled and platform is level with nothing on it and start.
Loosen the screw on top of the printer and take out the platform and scrap the part off, the piece will need ultrasonic cleaning in alcohol for 5 min and UV curing for 20 min
That is the support that will help me hold a piece of diamond in the CT for detailed analysis
This is the scan of the lattice with the diamond inside
