LED MONITOR ROULETTE
When a user holds the button, the 7-Segment display spins through the digits 0-9 at a rapid pace, and the LED's monitor what range the number is in (1-3 = Green, 4-6 = Yellow, 7-9 = Red.)
When the button is released, the user lands on a number and its corresponding color. Think of this like a mini-roulette machine.
STEP 1: EDA & MILL
The first step was to revisit KiCAD to prep my milling file
Leo and Lingdong demo'ed their latest Webmill update on this job. From the little i understood of their inside schemes, their update involved improvements to setting th Z Axis.
We broke many bits. I am their number one customer.
STEP 2: ASSEMBLE
The board came out beautifully. Shoutout to WebMill!
Assembling was a pain. Many tiny piences for a fist time solderer. I got the hang of it eventualy and the board came together.
STEP 3: TEST
None of that worked.
It turned out I had miswired the 7-Segment's power flow. I was also using too high a resistance
for the current being drawn. With all those issues in mind, I reworked the board.
Eventually I was able to get two segments to work, but had to move on. I realized the LEDs i was using also had no sense of polarity (important to understand with polarized +- components) and so i couldnt be sure how to turn them on. I'll look to resolve this more in Output Week. I am obsessive.
