About Me

I am Awu, a first-year graduate student in the MIT Media Lab Tangible Media Group (TMG). I have a background in traditional craft making, including textile weaving, knitting, and pottery making. For the past two years, I've been working with a textile weaver in Kyoto to help them digitize their craft and transform them into generative art. I love exploring the creative space between traditional craft and media arts, and as Professor Ishii recommended, I would like to learn the skills necessary to become a digital craftsman.
