Overview
This week I did a single‑part molding & casting run. I designed a hexagonal relief tile, machined a rigid master, poured a one‑piece silicone negative (no parting line), and cast the part in Rockite cement.
Process: CAD pattern → 3D CAM toolpaths → machine the master → one‑piece silicone pour → mix/vibrate (degas) Rockite → cure → demold → light sanding and cleanup. The gallery below shows the key steps from master to finished cast. Bonus: I also mixed and poured a small silicone mold for a set of architectural human figures and cast them in a low‑melt metal to test detail capture and venting.
