About
Week of 05/17
After last week's experiment and decision to work with slip we realized that pneumatic regulators to control
flows was not consistent enough. This week we decided to test control through a peristaltic pump. Switching
to this system can be used for precise control of both the foam and slip. As an initial test to see if this
process if viable we tested the peristaltic pump with a mixture of foam and slip to see if the foam bubbles
would be maintained as the material moved through. Finally regarding scalability check out this concrete
peristaltic pump below!
To Do:

-Use completed clay systems to print pieces to finish documentation.

-Attempt mixed extrusion using two peristaltic pumps. Minimize slump by using alcohol or deflocculant.

-Finish bioreactor and test with colored water. Completed training, pending final EHS approval for bacteria
waste management.
