Zain experiments here:

Starting Point
Long X Run+3D Scan
Pumpkins
Clay
Continuous Roller X Axis

Remote Making: In House
Design Studio for Arch Grad Students to make an installation
Wherever they are and with whatever material they have at hand
Using TinyZ Kits
Clay Drooping
Sideways TinyZ Mortiser
Wax
Fabric
Drag Knife Tool tiny blade held in tiny Bearing
Vacuum Hold Down using shop vac
HDPE Plenum + Scrap LDF Bleeder 1/8"
Larger Version to follow eventually
Wood
4 Axis Wood
Food and more Food
Grow Plants
Flotsam

5 Axis
SmoothieWare Controller
Dual driven X Axis use external drivers in parallel
B and C axis gear reduced nema 17s
Belt drive on Z Axis also need gear reduction
Still have to add end stops for all axes
Super Tiny Spindle Design Belt Drive
Then Crown Pulley and Z Axis Lead Screw Redesign
Using Mastercam + Generic Fanuc 5x Post for Gcode sim here

Unexpected 4 Axis Excursion
Machined an aluminum version of Clank Slide; no flexures
Use Jens Offset Cams for Bearing Preload instead, super awesome
Don't use BB Plywood as an X Axis Table, it swells on humid days
Use Jake's Clamshell Rotary with direct drive nema17
Will switch to belt+pulley version probably

Spindle Testing
Try to make a clank spindle, run off YEP 40A ESC + TinyG PWM
First Use XING 2207 1800KV, runs ok, but easy to stall motor.
Next try PropDrive 35-42 1250KV, can take heavier cuts
Need retention on fasteners, and stiffer machine
With M3 S1800, spindle runs at 18000rpm and ~16000 under load
1/4" Tool 1/8" DOC and 1/16" WOC 4-6 IPM sounds....ok...

Desk Mate
Machine Learning and Computer Vision Enabled Drawing Machine
50yard x 12" Trace Paper
Encode a drawing, project into a latent space in R2
Perturb the drawing's latent representation and draw something back
Still working on it....

Kuka experiments here:

Toolpathing
External TCPs
Input Output
MultiAxis Toolpathing
Plastic Welding
Sand Dispensing
Circular Saw

Liquid Metal Printing Experiments

Super fast and sort of controllable molten metal deposition
in a sandbox of 100ish micron granular media
A-Axis plug rod to modulate flow rate forthcoming
So far printing flat objects, like this chair frame
Trying to simulate granular particle and fluid interaction with
nozzle output shaft as a moving boundary condition
Still working on simulating
