follow on from week 01
- 3 iterations of the gripper
- bugfixing cadquery/fablight workflow
iterations >
- iteration 1
- started by FDM’ing all of the components, but due to overextrusion some components were unusable
- iteration 2
- SLA’d some of the sensitive parts, which resolved motion problems
- used 0.6mm thk brass for fingers
- iteration 3
- switched to 1.6mm thk brass for improved rigidity

found an annoying bug that caused the fablight to cut through tabs. sometimes can get ghosting outlines that overlay existing outlines, which means pattern is cut twice. when tabs are defined, only defined for a single outline. therefore, the cut will pass over the tab anyways.
in cadquery, it is sometimes necessary to delete no longer used construction components that may not appear to be in the workplane, but most definitely are:

this is one source of ‘ghosting’.
- next steps
- reduce interface between finger and tile; unintended interference with neighboring tiles
- reduce interface between finger and cam; interference between finger and cam
- mount onto a kleat and check for in-system fit
- after a stable design, send out parts for aluminum cnc
- cq-pipeline version for arbitrary geometries (or generative?)
