Brush tool

One of the reasons for making Baksi is that it could potentially paint candles for a local company. Kertahúsið makes candles in the shapes of known Icelandic buildings. The company started in our lab and is a direct result of Þórarinn going through the molding and casting week in the Fab Academy.

I need to see how I can deposit ink reliably. I did one manual brush test with alcohol ink:

The ink gets deposited through a sponge that I pushed inside the nozzle of a syringe:

The syringe worked sort of OK, but the sponge tip needs to be more precise than I could make it with a box cutter.

Then I borrowed the nice 3D printed Nyrio One robot from Fab Lab Sauðárkrókur and did an automated test with a paintbrush:

Then I discovered refillable brush pens and ordered a selection of them to try out:
