Milling, molding and casting week

Two friends and I started a 4k square foot artist studio and maker space called Hex House back in Brooklyn. Link to scan
We are around 1.5 years old, and there is always something that needs improvement.
For one: our door.

Lots of times people are confused or scared that they came to the wrong place & they go to our neighbor's slightly more welcoming door and will ring his doorbell:

He hated that.

So I decided to make a sign for our door and take it back with me next time I visit.
I wanted to make it in the style I created for Hex House, which is this stippled black and white style.

As you can see that there is high contrast on the houses. I wanted to create that effect, so I bought some holographic magnetic powder to put in clear resin.
then I designed my sign in fusion 360

I had to do it twice because the first time the job came out to 48 hours

Then I milled, it took a little less than two hours:

Check it out:

I did this so the sides would be more smooth

then I casted using bio-based entropoy resin

The magnet in the speaker is pulling the metalic glitter forward

then I had to break the mold, Its okay because I only want one sign but next time I wont mill the mold

sanded the hell out of it

then I polished it

then I glued it to some acrylic

I took it with me next time I visited and drilled it to the door with metal screws
