3D Printing

My goal is to design a very light plate in which the logo of my startup, Cap_able, and the name of the first collection, Manifesto, appear. 1. So I start designing the 3D model using Fusion360. I tried many different designs as you can see:

2. Once happy with my design, I upload it on CHITUBOX, a 3D data preparation software for 3D printing.

3. I use this resin for my model:

4. I use this printing machine Elegoo. It's a machine that can have a really nice resolution, and it's good to reproduce that thin layer and my logo. I use these settings:

5. After 3 hours, the model has been printed. Before having the final result, however, it is necessary to proceed with some steps: - removal of the resin supports on the back - cleaning of the model. Normally you remove the supports before cleaning, however, we preferred to reverse the process.

6. We then proceed with cleaning the model in 3 steps (through 3 different machines). Machine 1, we insert the models in the machine.:

7. Machine 1, we leave the model in the machine for about 4 minutes:

8. Machine 1, we can then take the models from the machine.

9. Machine 2, we then insert them in this machine for another 4 minutes:

10. Machine 3, we then insert them in this machine for another 4 minutes:

11. After the 3 steps cleaning the model still has the resin supports that we now need to remove. To do so, we need to use pliers. It is difficult to remove the supports without ruining the model which is very thin.

12. After this last process our model is ready!
