Composites

An expeiriment was run to test the capability of bonding the plastic infused fiberglass direclty to wood. First the fiberglass was laid on the board and taped in place. Moulds were made by applying wax to polished aluminum strips. The boards were sandwhiched between these surfaces. These boards were then heated at 190C for about 10 minutes in the multitherm, then transferred to the vacuuform where they were clamped while the plastic cured. The process did a fairly good job on full melt, though still not quite as nice as what can be acchieved on the KUKA. Unfortunately, bonding with the wood was minimal.
