Documentation or Decoration...
So we're (picture below) getting married next year. It has only been a few weeks into the wedding planning process and we already have a new found respect and appreciation for all of those who have planned weddings we have attended. I think this course will serve as great motivation to create some things for the wedding.
Documentation wise I am thinking of a few unique camera contraptions. Initially my thoughts were around creating a fun and unique photobooth. i think the range of skills practiced in HTM(A)A would come together nicely in a photobooth. I imagine a photobooth were guests could interact with various of custom made props and background. Additionaly, I hoped to create an automated camera system so guests could easily take the photos and have the immediately printed without assistance. I am still really excited about this idea, but I am not sure it is rigorous enough for the course. Another documentation project I was thinking about is to create a aerial camera system like a tethered hot air balloon that could take pictures of the recption. I am excited about this idea, but I am not too sure what kind of skills I will need to get this completed.
For decorations I was thinking of a way create lighting options for the tables. I was interested in creating interactive lanterns of some kind. I wonder if it would be possible to have the light be computerized to pick up the beat of the music. The ideas I have for decorations are still nascent. I know they will evolve as I gain a better understanding of how to incorporate the skills from this course.
I used SketchUp to create this draft of my final project hot air ballon idea.
