week 08 // input devices

For this week's project, we had to design a circuit to read in some kind of input. For my final project, I have decided to develop a shirt that can register touch and highlight whether that touch was in an "OK" location on the user's body. This could be applied to contact sports and allow referees to quickly, easily, and clearly see if there is a penalty of some sort, or if a score has been registered (like in fencing).

08.01 // testing the concept

To do this, I began with Neil's step response load board, hello.load.45. I again used the Roland SRM-20 in order to mill the traces and the interior.

08.02 // designing my own board

Neil's board worked well, however, I knew I would need to be able to register touches in multiple locations. For this, I started with the design from Matt Keeter which really gave me a good idea to test.
